CAD Conversions

How interesting it would be if what you think or what you can draw graphically comes to life right in front of your eyes? Very close to reality? Exactly that is what CAD (Computer Aided Design) does for you – converts your plans, sketches, diagrams and other files into CAD format.

Whether it is a huge piece of an engineering project or just a design for your home or office, CAD formats ensure steady progress till completion.

Manual 2D to Digital 2D/3D

CAD software enables us to draft designs with greater precision, without using stencils and technical drawing instruments and pretty fast too.

2D CAD software also allows users to document and annotate drawings with text, dimensions, leaders, and tables.

Digital 2D to 3D

Every Client/Supplier/Buyer may not be able to comprehend a 2D design as an Engineer will. This is where 3D steps in! They do not need technical mastery to understand a 3D. In fact, most people would prefer visualizing a project and hence their choice would naturally lean towards a 3D image, model or animation compared to a 2D technical drawing or image.

For example, even designers may have to look at 3 or 4 or even more images or design views and mentally combine those images in case of a 2D image whereas CAD softwares like SolidWorks eliminates these hassles and brings a combined picture that is closer to reality right in front of your eyes! And in case of machines and equipments you would want to see how it works or moves. 3D Animation helps you visualize it.

Equipped with such a software, you can not only reach industrial customers but anyone including suppliers, potential buyers, financial managers, operations managers et all. This will work wonders during a presentation where you can walk through your designs. Assemblers and fabricators can study a design at the touch of a button - even zoom in and out to have a better look at it.

3D to 3D Platform Migration

Nothing is permanent except change. In this ever changing world, there may be situations where you may want to change softwares or platforms for various reasons and this brings in issues like large scale of data transportations, software and operating systems compatibility and so on.

For example CATIA V4 (works on UNIX) to CATIA V5 (works on UNIX and Microsoft WINDOWS too) or CATIA to SolidWorks or viceversa needs to be done without departmental issues and hassle free. This is where we step into your shoes and enable a smooth transition, whether fully or in parts, as per your requirement.

CAD Translation to IGES, STEP

IGES (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification) has been in existence since the 1990’s. Native CAD files can be translated to IGES format and the benefit is - this necessitates only 1 translation.
STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product model data) has been in existence too for about two decades, however, it has gone through continual changes or improvements.
While there might be gaps in translation and some part may be missing during translation to IGES, STEP is a more mature format and Solid. It is extensively used in construction industry.
We help clients who would want to translate to IGES or STEP based on their requirement. We also discuss in detail to suggest the best of the two that would be more beneficial to clients.
